‘Me’ live on Viking FM

Tuesday, May 15th, 2007

Hello folks,

I’ve been out the office for a week or so - down in the big Smoke at an exhibition and for meetings etc. I couldn’t (or shall we say wouldn’t - but that’s another blog entry for later) get internet access so this has been my first real opportunity to get back to blogsville.

Also, I must admit I hit the blogging ‘wall’ (similar to the Marathon Wall only for bloggers not joggers) but thanks to my good buddy Fraser I’ve got stacks of subjects to talk about now so hopefully I’ll be blogging to gay abandon over the next few weeks.

Today I wanted to tell you about  a recent radio interview I conducted. It was a Radio Interview on Viking FM and it was all to do with Facing your phobias. We sell a product called Face Your Phobia which allows you to face all sorts of slippery and creepy things at the Paradise Wildlife Park in Herfordshire and ‘face your phobia’. Clever eh!

Anyhoo, you can check out the interview by clicking the link below. I’m the one speaking the Queens English!!

12 Little Duckies

Hello folks,

Working in the City can have its advantages. Everything and anything is accessible at the drop of a hat, life is exciting and dynamic and there’s a certain buzz about the place.

However - one thing you don’t get is 2 Mallard ducks and 12 little ducklings nipping in to your car park first thing on a Monday like we had at the Mighty Box this morning!

Being based in a farm house, we are obviously privvy to “all creatures great and small” (including the swallows which live in one of the outhouses) but never have we been more priveledged than with the visit of our twelve little guests this morning. It was cracking (no pun intended) and certainly cheered up the team for the week ahead.

Bianca - our own private paparazzi - nipped out with SLR and got a number of shots (including the one above) of the 12 little beauties. We’ll keep you posted on their progress.

Zak.

PS - There’s internal office wranglings at the minute of a ‘natural’ nature. Nobody wants to mow the lawns and take care of the gardens, but as the spring is coming, the grass and pesky weeds are growing at a rate of knots. So - Scoops has had the ingenious idea of getting a couple of goats. Classic.

(Not untyically) Barney is poo-pooing the idea (his favourite saying is bah himbug), but we’re still flying the goat flag. So, the plan is to wait till Barney goes on ANOTHER one of his holidays and get the little fellas in whilst he’s away ;-)

Affiliate Fat Camp

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Hello good people,

Hope you are all fine and dandy.

One of my good buddies in the On Line Marketing World has invited me on to his Affiliate Fat Camp. At first I was chuffed to be invited - A few days of debauchery, drinking and having a laff with like minded marketeers on the comedically entitled “Fat Camp”. That is until Paul told me about the itinery…

It actually is a Fat Camp. There will be a strict diet and you’ve got to do 20 press ups to earn 1 beer!!! And not to mention that I’ve been invited on a “FAT camp”. Now, I know I’ve put on a bit of timber over the last few years, but I think this is the straw that broke the camels back! I’m officially a big unit, man boobs and all.

Right time to go out on my bike. Speak to you when I’m a thinny.

Valentines Day Competition Winners…

Monday, April 16th, 2007

Hello folks,

I hope you are well.

I just wanted to tell you about a competition which we’ve recently sponsored at our good friends Quidco.

Basically each entrant had to detail one of their Valentine Horror stories with the winner taking home one of our ‘oh so popular’ Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kits. There are some great stories on there - well worth a read. The ultimate winner suffered a fate that will make most blokes wince. Whilst climbing a fence on the way to spend Valentines Day with his new lady he caught his erm… ‘jacobs’… on some barbed wire whilst on the way to meet his future missus and more embarrassingly her parents! OUCH!!!

Enjoy…

Great Customer Services…

Wednesday, April 4th, 2007

Hello folks,

Sorry. My blogging exploits have been nothing short of shambolic lately. Slapped wrists! I promise to write more often.

Anyway, I just wanted to write a post about some great customer services I’ve recently been privy to. I really put a lot of stock into managing Customers expectations and it’s something we put a lot of emphasis on at prezzybox.com. It’s a lot easier to get a customer than to keep a customer snd turn them into a repeat customer.

I’d therefore like to draw your attention to two companies this week. Recently I’ve bought a lap top and a Mountain Bike (for the missus). Both were ordered on Monday and they were delivered in perfect working order on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. So - big credit to Ebuyer.com for the lap top and Cyclestore.co.uk for the bike.

People are only to quick to complain about poor customer services and I feel it’s nice to shout about good Customer Services too.

 Take care folks.

Zak.

Arise Sir Noel…

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Not particularly work related this one but I feel I should share it with you as it was a massive highlight for me!!!

Bianca and myself went to London on Sunday. We had a lazy day on Sunday, shopped on Monday and then on Monday night popped along to the Royal Albert Hall to see the legend that is Noel Gallagher perform an acoustic set in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust. We got into the gig about 7 bells and after a couple of cheeky beers (no queues at the Bar) we made our way into the Arena and found ourselves sat no more than 10 rows from the front. Classic!!!

It was a truly amazing gig, with Noel performing a load of Oasis classics (”Wonderwall”, “Slide Away” etc etc) as well as some tunes which havn’t been played since yonder year - such as “Sad Song” and “Don’t Go Away”. The Modfather - Paul Weller - showed up to do a couple of tunes including the Beatles “All you need is love”, and support came from the highly talented “The View” and cheeky scouse rogues “Shack”.

We had a fantastic night which was made more special due to the fact that it was for such a worthy cause…

Over and out.

Zak.

We’ve gone blog crazy!

Tuesday, March 20th, 2007

Morning folks,

I hope you are all well on this bitter…erm…Spring morning!!! Chuffin cold isn’t it.

The team have officially gone Blog crazy. With the the relative early success of Prezzyblog - and I have to say secretive jealousy by some of the team that I get to fill out the blog every day ;-) - Blogs have been popping up all over the place of late.

Scoops, has has launched her ingeniously entitled Shopping Scoop which has a little story about new and exciting products, whilst I myself (not content with one blog I hear them murmur) am going to start a new blog based around the marketing role I have within the Mighty Box. Finally T-Bone is starting a new blog to highlight details of his one man stand up comedy shows. He used to be in a one man band but the drummer ket getting on his back!

Aye Karumba!

As soon as we’ve got details we’ll let you know.

Keep warm!

Zak.

After the success of Steak Pie Tuesday…

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

After the success of Tidy Friday, Steak Pie Tuesday and - the staffs favourite - late night Monday, we’ve introduced a new bastion to the Prezzybox.com staple staff diet of work and play….

…Yep - Film Day Friday starts tomorrow. Unfortunately for the staff, this isn’t where Arran can bring in his favourite film (Karate Kid 2) or where Cherry gets to oggle here favourite ‘out of space buddy’ (ET) but moreover it’s the day in which we going to shoot all of our exciting product videos to display on the site.

Script writer and aspiring George Lucas, Cherry Barrett, is busy finalising the screen plays as we speak and tomorrow we intend to film the Peekaboo Pole Dancing Kit, the Inflatable Ballerina Costume and the Wild Sling in action.

Lights, Camera, Action…
