I hope you’re all well and enjoying the sunshine!!

Prezzybox Buying and Marketing dept have been busy at The Gadget Show Live this week hunting down new gifts and gadgets for you! We saw plenty of gifts for dad, mum and the rest of the family. Just as a quick reminder that fathers day is just around the corner on 20th June, so no excuse for forgetting or leaving it until the last minute.  LG were launching their new 3D TV’s to the public they were amazing, really looking forward to that technology coming in to our homes. New scooters, skate boards and digital cameras were all being launched to the UK for the first time so look out for them on the site soon!

Today is the big wedding day for our customer services  Becky, we hope she has an amazing day and the sun stays shining!

It’s been an exciting day here at Prezzybox HQ, we’ve held our first ever ‘Prezzybox Masterchef’ Everyone at the mighty box has been cooking, baking and steaming like mad to create their special signature dishes for everyone to taste.

We had veggie-meatball curry with onion bhajees, Ham baked in coke, gucamole, chilli and salmon mousse followed by 2 styles of cupcake, fairy cakes, seriously indulgent chocolate cake, raspberry & white choc cheesecake, oreo cookie cheesecake, crumble and impossible pie

It really was a feast!

But in the end, there had to be a winner. We all voted, and the scores were….

But there was a little bit of drama today, as the fabled first place was a draw between Debby’s Salmon Mousse and Zak’s Ham baked in Cola.

In stepped Craig to the rescue and to provide the casting vote.

That’s right, it’s Zak with his ham baked in cola

We’ve still got loads of leftovers, so we’ll be having seconds later today.

It’s a bit like a balloon bomb has gone off and the office has filled with shiny, colourful balloons!

The balloons are actually being photographed for the site, you’ll be able to buy these very soon in the Birthday category.

Something tells me Jean’s going to have a but of a surprise when she celebrates her birthday with us on Monday!

The boss comes back on Monday, so we’ve been enjoying our last week of craziness before order is restored. We’re hoping they’ll be back with loads of stories from their 3 week romp around Oz (and maybe some presents for the staff, pretty please?) Perhaps we’ll even put some of their holiday snaps up on here!

“Would you believe it could all start from a game of hide and seek?

As I put on the blindfold, I walked around with my arms outstretched. Well, I don’t mean to boast, but I am very good at this game. All my other senses come alive as I become attuned to the movements around me. However, one of my friends decided to slip out of the room. As I followed, I seemed to lose my co-ordinates. Bang! I walked straight into the door of the cupboard under the stairs! Suddenly, I heard a floorboard creak. Frustrated, I began to berate my friend for leaving the room. As I made my way along the hallway to the foot of the stairs…I misjudged my location again. Bang! I’d walked into the staircase railing again! Now definitely frustrated I climbed the stairs to where I knew my friend was. I grabbed hold of her foot and said victoriously, ‘See I got you!’

As I pulled off my blindfold to my horror I realised, this was not my friend! There sitting on that step of the staircase, the person whose foot I was holding was….no other than my whole future, smiling down goofily at me, as the blood rushed to my face!”

We loved his story of ‘blind love’ (geddit?) So much that we awarded him third prize!

In Second Place….

Naomi Muggeridge!

“I was a student nurse living with three other nurses. One of the girls had a boyfriend in the RAF. One evening he came over with a friend to mend her car. As I was leaving to go out for the evening I walked past a tall, dark handsome stranger standing in my hall.
The following day I asked my friends boyfriend about the stranger and he said ‘oh, he’s going to phone you later, he had a dream about you last night and you were feeding him crumpets!’ ..’mmmm!’ said I, ‘crumpets!!’ and the rest is history..One dog, 2 cats, 2 rabbits and 2 children later…”

Crumpets are always a massive hit in the Prezzybox office and when crumpets and love mix, the results are spectacular!

A load of valentine’s goodies are winging their way to the lucky winners as we speak!

And finally, Last but most definitely not least, Our Grand Prize Winner!

“I met my gorgeous hubby in 1978 in weirdly funny, yet sad circumstances. I was visiting my lovely Gran, when she said she had a decorator upstairs. I made a cup of tea and she called him down. I didn’t really fancy him that much as we all sat down on the settee with our cuppas.
Gran loved her budgie, Billy, who was flying round the room.

Suddenly Billy landed on Gary, the decorator’s foot at just about the split second he was crossing his legs. Next thing I knew poor Billy was hurtling through the air heading towards the lovely roaring coal fire!!

It was like slow motion Aaaaargh! We still laugh about it!!!”

This story made us laugh and cringe in equal measure (I also have her word that they bought Gran a new budgie after the incident!)

If you haven’t heard of them, where have you been?! They’re gorgeously soft and fluffy fleecy blankets that are fantastic at keeping you warm and cosy on the sofa (or wherever you happen to be. But these are no ordinary blankets, Oh No; the Slanket is brilliant because it comes with sleeves!

But it’s been a great Christmas for Prezzybox. We’ve been completely rushed off our feet! I hope you’ve all had a great Christmas and that 2010 is shaping up to be a great year for you all.

Unfortunately, the snow has been wreaking havoc across the country, and being that Prezzybox HQ is in the middle of the countryside, most of the Prezzybox crew have been working from home this week.

It would be easy to let the ice and snow get us all down, but it’s even easier to wrap up warm & safe in our Slankets and hot sox. If you’re chilling at home, why not check out the Winter Sale with loads of bargains across the site!

So what does an internet company do when the power’s off?

At first, we just hung out in our Slankets waiting for the power to come back. After a while, we decided to give the office a jolly good tidy.

The power came back about an hour later and now the office is fresh and clean, we’ve recycled all of our boxes and cyper-cleaned our keyboards.

So what do you guys get up to when the power goes out?

Also, since we haven’t said it before, I’d like you all to give a big Prezzybox Welcome to our newest member of staff, Deena. She’s our new techie and is very lovely indeed.

I present to you, miss Hello Kitty!

All hail her royal cuteness.

She’s the latest addition to the Prezzybox team after our new techie, Deena, who joined us a few weeks ago. Kitty has already made quite an impression and even launched a full-scale haddock heist this afternoon. She’s gonna go far here for sure.

She and her big sister, Polly, have been getting along very well indeed and have already formed quite a formidable team!

Our trophy shelf is now groaning under the weight of our brand new shiny award, the Retail Systems Retail Website of the Year 2009 award!

It joins the 5 other trophies we’ve won over the last 3 years for our wonderful affiliate marketing work and is surrounded by the many WOW customer services awards we’ve won over the years.

This award proves that for internet retail, Prezzybox is the best!

We couldn’t be happier with our shiny new trophy and the prestigeous title that comes with it. The award is truly deserved by all our staff who work tirelessly to make sure Prezzybox is the best it can be.

We love the Pet’s Eye View Camera here at Prezzybox. It helps to answer the age-old question; “Where does my cat/dog/ferret/whatever” go when I’m not around?”

Our friends at Heart Radio have been finding out what their cat sees when it’s out and about.

Could it be that the cat has access to some magical world? Or that the cat is actually an international super-villain bent on taking over the world? Let’s see what pictures they got…
