Prezzybox Take to the Skies!

Monday, November 17th, 2008

Well, this is the one we’ve all been waiting for. Zak and Becky took to the sky on Saturday for the exciting climax to our Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

After changing into the stylish jumpsuits, our brave duo signed themselves in and waited nervously for the plane to take off.

The plane took them up to 14,000 feet before the door of the plane was flung open and they took the plunge.

Zak is the one with the yellow parachute, and Becky has the orange stripey one, in case you were wondering.

After an exciting glide down to earth, Zak and Becky touched down

We’re really proud of our skydivers! this dive had helped us raise even more money for St Giles Hospice.

Congratulations Zak and Becky, officially the bravest people at the Mighty Box!

Week Three

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

We’re doing well here at Prezzybox, the cyclists are feeling the cold now though. Having taken a rain check on monday night, They’re doing extra miles to make up for it, but the nights are getting much colder. Only a week left though, so we’re keeping the spirits high.

Today’s Weigh-in saw sharon shooting towards the 1 stone goal, she’s lost 6 pounds so far, lets see if a final push this week can get rid of the last bit before the last weigh in next friday! Same goes for our slimming lads!

On a different note, we’ve had a very important visitor to the office today, Elmo Live!, tipped to be one of the must-have toys this christmas, came in to say hi and Bianca took quite a shine to him.

Elmo Live! is one pretty awesome toy, he’s so lifelike you have to see him to believe him. We’ll have a video soon so you can see for yourself, but you can order your own Elmo from Prezzybox, here for £59.95

Well, we’re nearly halfway through! by the end of the day, our cyclists will have ridden a full 50 miles! They’re feeling great already, and now that Nikki has fixed her brake cable they’re raring to go for their 8 miles tonight!

We had a photographer in from the local paper yesterday to take pictures of our tattoos which are all  healing nicely. We’re all looking forward to the next edition of our lovely local paper!

We’re still trying to think up a challenge for our very own Polly the dog, and ideas welcome…

Prezzybox Gets Inked!

Monday, October 13th, 2008

As week 2 ended, it was time for Sue, Jean and myself to take on our challenges for the month. After work on Friday, we trooped down to tamworth to the Mad Dog Tattoo Studio where we met Dugi. We discussed our designs before it was time to get the tattoos done.

I went first as my little paw designs didn’t take too long

Next up was Sue, our mild-mannered customer services expert. She was a little nervous but took it all in her stride.

She now has a lovely little butterfly on her arm.

Last but by no means least, it was Jean’s turn. After lining it up perfectly, it was time to get ‘inked’

she now has a little butterfly too

Everyone did brilliantly, and we’ve raised loads of money so far, almost at the halfway mark now! Keep an eye on the blog for more updates, Also, if you’re in the area, Take a look at the Tamworth Herald this week!

Chocolate and Leavers

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Hey Everyone

In amongst our celebrations, challenges and fundraising this month, we are very sad to see one of our colleagues head off into the great wide world to go travelling. We’ll miss Michael lots, and love him for bringing in chocolate this morning (I could hear Nicola screaming downstairs!)

We’re hoping he’ll be back before too long, but we all hope he has a great time and brings us back some Orcs from new Zealand!

Bon Voyage

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Today’s the day for those of us getting ‘inked’ in the name of charity. I spoke to Sue at the beginning of the month to find out how she felt about the upcoming task. She said…

“Being one of the more ‘mature’ members of staff and having resisted the temptation of adorning my body with anything other than earrings, when I offered to have a tattoo to raise funds for breast cancer month the idea was quickly pounced on by Kat and Nicola and the arrangements made.  They have offered to come along to offer ‘moral support’ but I am wondering if it is to ensure that I do not do a runner!    Bearing in mind that it is for a very good cause, I will grit my teeth and hopefully not show myself up in front of my colleagues.  Watch this space!!”

She’s feeling a little aprehensive today, I asked whether she was looking forward to it. She said…

“Kind of.  Mixed feelings at the moment – the chocolate part’s good though!”

We’ve been told to eat something sweet like chocolate before we go, Michael has wonderfully supplied us with chocolate today, so we’re all set. Be prepared for pictures, coming soon. As well as confirmation of a new surprise task!

As we’re halfway to our fundraising goal for the month, Polly the Dog will be taking on a challenge of her own! Keep your eyes on the blog!

Tattoos and Spreading the Love

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

The weather has turned lovely & sunny and Bianca’s cold is going away, so the bikers are happy. Nicola’s brake cables need changing, and her chain is a little squeaky, but since they got used to the idea of biking each night, that’s the only complaint we’ve heard from them. 30 Miles down and 70 left to go!

Our runners are getting into a similar pace, both are bang on track to their 50 mile goal. The dieters are also getting into the swing of things, thinking thin and we can see the pounds dropping off them.

Craig’s not in today, but I’m guessing he’s looking pretty beardy right now.

But tomorrow brings fresh challenges, as Sue, Jean and Myself are off to get inked! Our tattoos will be very kindly drawn by Mad Dog Tattoos in Tamworth. We’ll send you the pics when we’ve had them done.

We’ve been getting loads of encouragement from our friends and family, our sponsorship page is filling up nicely, and we’re nearly halfway to our £1000 target!

We’ve also been getting a lot of support from our friends in the gadget world, Specifically Gaj-It.com who have been wishing us well and giving us loads of support, thanks guys!
