After waiting for all the chrysalises to hatch I thought that today being such a lovely sunny day it would be nice to set them free. As soon as I arrived at work I put their basket outside, opened the top and left them to it.
Within half an hour they had all flown away, were going to miss those guys!
Bring on the next tried and tested!!
Take care!!

Arrived at work this morning and something caught my eye, the chrysalises have hatched and we know have three beautiful butterflies! They hatched over night and have left a bit of a mess behind but they are stunning, it’s so amazing that it was only about two weeks ago they arrived as tiny caterpillars. Here are some pictures:

I’ll write back when the final two have hatched and their ready to be released.
Take care

Kat ordered her ants for her Antworks before she went away on holiday and they arrived yesterday so I had to become their mother for a few days before her return. They arrived in a small test tube and I was worrying how I was going to get them into their new home without them escaping. After reading the instructions I put them in the fridge for 15min this stops them being so active which makes it easier to transport them over.

As you can see from this picture I had a bit of a struggle keeping all the ants in and in the end I gave up trying to take the blue cloth out, I decided to leave it in until the ants have settled in.
This morning when I got into work they had already started to burrow and make a new home towards the bottom of the tank. I will update you tomorrow!
Take care!

Hey Guys
Our plants have been doing well over the last week. Our herbs are doing very well.

The sunflowers are getting pretty impressive!

We’ve even had some miniscule sprouts from the chillis this week (you probably can’t see them, but I assure you they’re there!)

Hopefully after the weekend they will have grown a little more. We’ll keep you posted

Hey Guys
the Ants have arrived, and we’ve transplanted them into the farm. it took about 24 hours for them all to move across to their new home

And we’ve moved the triops into their lovely new tank

And added the plants, which have been doing brilliantly over the last week

Once the ants had made a home for themselves in the farm…

…we moved the tube through to the islands in the tank and finished it all off with some sticks and rocks.

Antlantis is set up! We’ll keep you up to date as the Triops grow bigger, watch this space!

Heya
Our caterpillars have been busy over the last 24 hours, we now have 3 chrysalis in our pot, only2 more to go before they get transplanted into the butterfly enclosure!

They’ve generated a lot of interest from everyone here at prezzybox, we can’t wait to see them emerge as butterflies!

The sunflowers are growing quickly, we’ll probably need to re-plant them outside soon

the Herbs are also beginning to grow

We’re yet to see much action from the chillis

But we’re expecting something to happen soon, and we’ll let you know as soon as it does!

Hello there!
We’ve been tending to our plants and other projects this week, we’re filling up quite a few windowsils in the farmhouse. As you can see, we’re having to snuggle the plants in amongst our awards!

The caterpillars have grown so much over the last week. On friday, we left them looking like this

Today, they’re much bigger, they’ve demolished their food, and one is about to go into its chrysallis

We’ll keep you posted, hopefully soon we’ll be transplanting them into their butterfly enclosure!
Stay Tuned

Hey guys and girls
Its been a few weeks since we started growing our very own piece of Old Trafford, and now its time to finish the pitch off.

It needed a final trim

Before adding the goal, corner flags and pitch layout

We think it looks pretty cool. Its still growing now and will need the occasional trim, but the finished product looks fantastic and will last ages.
If we can do it, you can! get your own here
